So this is a session of firsts for me….first time shooting in a festival setting AND first time only needing two weeks to shoot, edit, proof, and blog an entire session.  But what can I say?  This session was amazing on so many levels and I’m so excited to share!

First of all – a little backstory.  This mom is a good friend and an incredible newborn photographer.  SHE had this amazing vision for this session, from the location down to the perfect outfits she picked out for each member of the family.  She called me up MONTHS ago with the idea to shoot at the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, FL.   I was up for the challenge and am always excited to do something different, so we put a date on the calendar and spoke every week or two about new pieces of outfits she was putting together, about shooting in the morning vs the evening at the festival, sharing pinterest ideas with each other, etc.   It finally came down to the week before the shoot, and her husband (who is a local police officer) was involved in a pretty serious shooting.  It was a scarey day for their family, but thank the Lord he was not hurt.  That made them, and me, even more grateful to do this session knowing that it came close to not happening at all.   Throw in a case of the flu for both kids the week of the session (we actually had to postpone a day b/c one of the kids was puking on the original date), and we were all releaved to get there and get it done.  I told my friend as we walked into the festival that I was really nervous for some reason – I felt like a lot more than usual was riding on how these images turned out.  So much happened going into it, and then the festival was ending that weekend, and the kids were still kinda sick – there was not a chance for any re-do’s if it didn’t turn out.   I don’t know why I was even worried. 🙂

I love everything about these pics!!  The outfits – styled perfectly!  The kids – happy and smiling and adorable.  The colors – so bright and fun.  Even the weather was perfect – it actually cooled off that day.  But enough of me talking about it.  Now for the images!  (These are only a few of my favorites!).
